About Lloyd E. Wesley Jr.

Lloyd took a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Wayne State University and did substitute teaching for a short period. In 1968 he began working as a letter carrier for seven years and then followed the vision that his wife, Pat, received in 1977 and went into management for the USPS. He and Pat dedicated their lives to the Lord and began teaching in-home Bible classes that initiated on his route on every other Thursday for about 15 years. During that time, the classes expanded, and many were won to the Lord, experienced the baptism in the Holy Ghost, healings, and restoration of relationships. Lloyd helped to establish the Central Detroit Full Gospel businessmen’s fellowship in 1976. He began working in a supervisory capacity in 1977 and rapidly moved up the ranks to the executive level as Postmaster of Detroit in 1996, achieved exemplary results over a 47-year career, retiring in 2015. He and Pat have pastored Grace Refuge Chapel church since 2000.

The Wesley’s recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and have counseled both singles and married couples for over forty years and have seen lives strengthened and marriages restored through Christ in the “Power of Two Marriage Ministry.”

In 1980 the Lord showed Lloyd the first of four visions. In the first one the Lord showed him leaving the house at night with his family and driving to the downtown area of a large city. At the time of leaving the house it was dark beyond anything he had ever experienced, and the Lord spoke, “this is spiritual darkness.” As they drove towards the downtown area, skyscrapers exploded with their rubble falling into the streets. The Lord spoke, “this is the world system coming to naught.” Driving away from the chaos, the road kept getting narrower as they drove far from the city. The Lord spoke again, “wide is the way that leads to destruction and many are on that road, narrow is the way that leads to life, and few there be that find it.” The road became so narrow only the wheels of the left side of the car fit the road. At that point they left the car as they saw a small church in the wilderness. As they mounted the stairs, two things stood out: the church was made of one stone and was red. Again, the Lord spoke, “those within this structure stand on my word and the blood of Jesus washes them of their sins.” Immediately, Lloyd was carried by the Spirit to above the exploding buildings downtown. Being above the buildings, he descended through a glass dome of a large church without breaking the glass or harming himself. Being fifty-sixty feet above the floor, the insides of the church were ornate and magnificent, but he noticed the structure was not stone nor red. As he peered upward through the glass dome, the Lord spoke, “yes, I can see right through it!”  It exploded as did the skyscrapers surrounding it. Finally, the Lord translated Lloyd swiftly to the small church in the wilderness and oceans of people were coming into it through the roof. The Lord spoke one last time, “teach them how to go through tribulation!”

Around 1995-97, Lloyd asked the Lord three questions regarding the vision. “Father, the city that was seen could not have been Detroit, as there were too many skyscrapers that were taller than Detroit’s and how could all the non-ending oceans of people fit into the church in the wilderness without it bulging at the seams?” The Lord’s response was that the city’s name was not important as He had said that the exploding skyscrapers represented the “world system.” The “world system” was greed, lust, envy, ungodly behavior, etc.” Regarding the “oceans of people” never filling-up the wilderness church the Lord stated, “what you saw was the internet.” The Lord could not have told him about the internet in 1980, as there was none, and he would not have understood. About eleven years ago the Lord had Lloyd to place the classes of “How to Go Through Tribulation Victoriously” on the internet.

The book “Guard Your Heart, Hearing God to Master the Nine Issues of Life,” is a supplement of God’s instruction at the end of the vision to “Teach them how to go through tribulation.” The present times we are living in represent “darkness covering the earth and gross darkness the people” that the Lord spoke of in Isaiah 60:2, and people are going through growing “tribulation” at present that they must learn to go through victoriously.
